“I am a human being, not a human doing.”
― Kurt Vonnegut
Week 4 Tasks:
Podcast week!
There are plenty of incredible podcasts out there! Your job this week is to find one you're interested in and listen to it!
You can look on Spotify, on Apple Podcasts, on Youtube, or any other medium you prefer.
It can be any kind of podcast of any kind of genre. It can be comedy, news, pop culture, a conversation... Literally anything.
Here is a link to one: STUFF YOU MISSED IN HISTORY CLASS
On this page you can also explore many others!
Happy Listening!

Week 3 Tasks:
I think we all can agree that one of the most memorable popular culture fads of the 2010's era was the life and death of Vine.

Let's commemorate these good times this week.
Task: Resurrecting Vine
You may work in a group, alone, or with a partner, but you must create a 7 second video (in the format of a vine) and submit it to the class vine competition (through uploading it to google classroom). (Bonus points if your vine commemorates something from your quarantine experience!)
Week 2 Tasks:
Task 1:
Let's follow some advice from 3 year old Ayaan! Ayaan knows who he is before he starts out his day and reminds himself of his worth and capabilities before he does any work.
What are 3 daily affirmations you can give yourself this week? Write these down, and recite them to yourself each morning. It may sound cheesy at first, but you may actually find it helpful! (:

Task 2:
Something I have been enjoying this week is watching NPR Tiny Desk shows! I really enjoy going to live music shows, and watching these mini-concerts has helped me still continue to do that from home. One of my favorite artists right now is Maggie Rogers.

What is one way you can continue doing something you love to do, in a different way, from home? For me, it is watching NPR tiny desk concerts! What is your version of this? Share what you are doing, or feel free to join me in watching concerts from home, and share it on your "Student as Human Being" document in Google Classroom.
Week 1 Tasks:
In honor of your week one challenge, I have included a timely quote from beloved young adult author Lemony Snicket:
“At times the world may seem an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe that there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough. and what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may in fact be the first steps of a journey.”
― Lemony Snicket
Reading is such a beautiful way for us to connect with ourselves and with one another - especially in times on uncertainty, and in times when we need human connection. Books help ground us in reality while helping us explore new, imaginative places. Lucky for us, and big thanks to Ms. Brenda, we now have a VIRTUAL Library!!:
You can download the Sora app on your mobile device or go to https://soraapp.com/ Login with your school e-mail, and check out a book for 3 weeks! You can renew it if there are no holds. If a book is checked out, you can place a hold, and you will get an e-mail when it's available.
Tasks:
1. Your task is to choose a book you would like to read, and to start reading it. (Suggested goal: complete at least 100 pages/week).
2. Your next task is to learn some new dance moves with your classmates via Google Meet (in class): Toddlerography
